Term 4 - Linocut evening classes

Evening class 2026
Held at Creative Arts Napier - Workshop space

6-8pm, Thursdays
5 November - 10 December 2026

This is a series of 6 weekly evening classes where you will discover the wide variety of options linocut offers. Suitable for students who have completed term 2 beginner classes or have previously tried some printmaking with lino.

However, if there are some spaces available - beginners are welcome too!

Guided by experienced tutor and practising printmaker Lisa Feyen from Ink Moth Print Studio, you will work on lino blocks to produce a limited edition of fine art prints using the reduction technique. You will learn how to make a registration board to use on the press, to ensure your layers line up and give you perfect results.

You will also have the opportunity to explore a range of techniques for adding and playing with colour, including collage (chine colle), colour blending, and using collaged backgrounds.

You will finish the course with a limited edition of fine art prints you have designed and printed yourself - something to be really proud of!

  • Please bring a sketch book or paper for drawing, a pencil and eraser, and wear old clothes or an apron you don’t mind getting inky. If you have saved visual references that inspire you, please bring them along.

The first block of A5 lino is included in the course fee, with more lino blocks available to purchase at the class as needed (cash only).

Basic cartridge paper will be available, but you are encouraged to bring good quality A4 printmaking paper for printing your edition. Lisa will have packs of paper available to purchase at the class should you need it (cash only).

Inks and equipment will all be available to use at the workshops and are included in the course fee.

(Limited to 10 places; pre-payment is required to secure your spot)
